Intro to Badminton (Adult, SP26)
Service Description
Interested in playing badminton but don't know where to start? This Intro Level group class is a great way to get started! Over the course of 4 weeks, you will learn from a coach the basics to serve, rally, and move around the court so you can enjoy this amazing sport! In this class, you will learn about the following different skills: - Grip position - learn the different ways to hold a racket to perform forehand and backhand swings - Swing mechanics and timing - discover how different arm movements and contact timing result in a variety of shots - Movement - learn the basic footwork and body mechanics to be able to efficiently move around the court - Game rules & play - learn the differences between singles and doubles play, how and where to serve, and get practice in short-form live gameplay DATES & TIMES - this group class will meet at Cardinal Badminton from 7:30pm - 9:00pm on the following days: Week 1: Wednesday, May 6th - breaking down the forehand grip, split step, and chasse step Week 2: Wednesday, May 13th - breaking down the backhand grip and lunge step Week 3: Thursday, May 21st - learning how to use the different footwork steps to move around the court Week 4: Wednesday, May 27th - finding out the backcourt and frontcourt shots that work the best for you

Reservations are fully refundable up to 48 hours prior. Cancellations between 48 to 24 hours of your reservation will be 50% refundable. Cancellations within the last 24 hours are nonrefundable.
